Today, let’s explore an important question we often hear about our unique, custom garage floor coating system. And, spoiler alert: we think you’re going to like the answer.

How Long Does It Take To Install My Garage Floor Coating?

Nope, you don’t need to be booted out of your garage for a week or more! The beauty of our floor system is that it can be fully installed in a single day - even a roomy 2 or 3-car garage!

What Does Our Garage Floor Coating Process Include?

Okay, so what’s involved in this 1-day system?

1. Grinding the floor with our heavy-duty concrete grinder
2. Mending (fixing any cracks or pitting)
3. Laying down a polyurea basecoat (forming a chemical and mechanical bond with your concrete)
4. Broadcasting your choice of chip color (we have numerous blends for you to pick from, or you can customize your own)
5. Rolling out the polyaspartic topcoat

Does the Grinding and Coating Process Fill My Garage with Dust?

Let’s talk a little more about our Serious concrete grinder.

This is a propane-powered, diamond-tooled grinder, connected to a triple-filtered HEPA vacuum. The surface prep and profiling is phenomenal, and we also can contain dust generated during the grinding process (further protecting your home and air quality). We also NEVER use acids that wash off and are harmful to the environment. Just an extra measure of peace of mind!

How Long Until I Can Drive On my New Garage Floor Coating?

You can safely walk on it in 12 hours, and we recommend waiting 24-48 hours before driving on it (depending on the outside temperature). Some epoxy installations, on the other hand, will kick you out of your garage for a week or more. Yikes.
