The smooth, factory-looking finish you have seen in photos does not come from a brush. It comes from spray equipment in a controlled space, and it is the single biggest reason professional cabinet painting looks different from a weekend project.
Brushed-on wall paint over a factory finish is what peels in a year. Sprayed, properly primed, cabinet-grade coating is what holds up to a decade of dishwasher steam and sticky hands.
If you have a garage or spare room we can set up as a spray booth, we work on site and it keeps your cost down. If not, cabinet doors and drawer fronts come to our shop, get sprayed under controlled conditions, and come back. Either way you get the same finish.
Our 5 steps to seriously beautiful cabinets
Protect everything. Plastic, masking, and floor protection before anything else happens. Your kitchen is still your kitchen while we work in it.
Prep the cabinets. Degrease, degloss, sand, and fill. This is the longest step and the one that decides whether the finish lasts. Grease near a cooktop is invisible and it will reject paint.
Prime. Primer is not optional and it is not the same as paint. Going from dark to light, or over a factory topcoat, this is what makes the color hold.
Spray the finish. Multiple thin coats with cure time between them. Rushing this is how you get a finish that stays tacky and marks up the first time someone closes a door.
Reassemble and clean up. Hardware back on, doors rehung and adjusted, everything hauled out. You should not be finding masking tape a week later.

Will painted cabinets actually hold up?
This is the question everyone asks, and it deserves a straight answer rather than a sales one.
Yes, when the prep and product are right. No, when they are not. That is the entire story.
What fails is skipped degreasing, no sanding, no primer, wall paint instead of a cabinet coating, and no cure time. We have been called in to fix all five. What lasts is a sprayed, properly primed, cabinet-grade finish, and we warranty ours.
The honest caveat: painted cabinets are not indestructible. A dropped cast iron pan will chip them the same way it chips a factory finish. The difference is that a painted finish can be touched up.
Is your kitchen a good candidate?
Painting is the right call if you can say yes to most of these.
The layout works for you. If you want to move the sink, you want a remodel, not paint.
The boxes are solid. Sturdy cabinets are worth refinishing. Water-damaged particleboard is not.
You like the door style. Paint changes the color, not the profile.
They were decent cabinets to begin with. Solid wood and quality builds have years left in them.
If your cabinets fail two or more of those, we will tell you so. Painting bad cabinets just gives you bad cabinets in a nicer color.
